PSINK_FILM_1
Session 9 (2001)
Watched it last night (the 19th of December), drew the review this morning (the 20th).
Spoilers for what I mean in that last panel:
In the last few minutes of the film, it turns out that Gordon Went Insane and killed his wife and child before the events of the movie. He’s possessed by an alternate personality, kills his asbestos abatement team, and hides in one of the rooms of Danvers, trying to call his wife and apologize. This is juxtaposed with an audio tape of an interview with a patient with DID from 30 years ago who was herself possessed by an evil alter and killed her family.
So, basically, you can’t trust Crazy Psychos not to Snap One Day and start Killing People, and The Only Way to deal with them is by locking them away from society, and it’s a shame all those mental institutions got shut down in the 70s and 80s.
I still think the film is valuable as a record of a historical site that was wrongfully destroyed, but not aside from that.
